Beauty is Only Skin Deep

Image from the web

We may have the most beautiful face
with the best pair of eyes like precious sparkling diamonds
yet they underestimate somebody's character.

We may have the most beautiful face
with that perfectly shaped nose possessing a great profile
yet it hates the smell of poor people in the streets.

We may have the most beautiful face
with a plump and pretty pout lip so desirable to kiss
yet it speaks more of lies than truth.

We may have the most beautiful face
with all the make up on
with all the glamour and glitz
with all the fame and glory
but
it's

NOTHING
WORTHLESS
and
PALE
if it's only
SKIN DEEP

its brilliance just shimmers on the surface
and never glows within.

    1. and we cannot judge the book by its cover... but still some people are so mean, they seem to belittle others based on physical traits.

    2. sad but true.. we just have to be mature enough to know that those are their issues.. deep within that's what they are - mean, insecure and ugly. Sad..

  2. I completely agree! Looks will change no matter what in 10 years time. But it's what's in you that's for keeps.

    1. I appreciate your comment Ms Adeline and it's very true that LOOKS may wither in time but the kindness of heart will not perish.

  3. Beauty (the external kind) is in the eye of the beholder. Its very subjective and could be defined in a lot of ways. But the real beauty, the one wherein no makeup or beauty product can give, the one that can be seen only in a good heart and soul, is something everyone should give more importance to. :)

  4. Yes, you can tell a lot about a person's personality by his or her face. It's totally different from being judgemental, though. It's just that one's face is a door to his soul.

  5. looks can be deceiving. it's always important to know the person well first before making any conclusions.

  8. yes, beauty is skin deep, it's not just the physical appearance but more importantly the character of the person. Physical beauty will fade but the goodness in heart will be there forever.

  9. I once learned this from a family. "Physical allure is a fading thing, what's inside your heart that makes you forever.

  10. Skin deep is not only Superficial. It has rooted deep inside!

  11. Agree. Physical beauty is a plus, but not the end of it. True beauty is inside.

  12. Do not judge the book by its cover. Right?

  13. Beauty is a reflection of oneself. Everything you love is only a reflection of you. Nature, good-hearted people and kindness is the most important of all. Meaning go deeper on that person and you will see the real beauty on her/him.

  14. this is true. some people just never grow old to realize that attitude matters in being a beautiful person

  15. It's personality that makes a person beyond age, wrinkles and time.

  16. How true. Never judge a book by its cover. You'll never know the story until you turn its pages.

  17. There are people who base their profile according to the skin color or physical features -- sad reality. Judgement is based on physical and not on the inside. :(
The covers of the books aren't enough; they should know and understand its content first.

  18. So true. However, you can't blame those individual who looks at outward beauty. The Scripture says "Man looks at the outward beauty but God seeks the heart."

  19. I like how this applies to the saying "beauty fades; the soul is forever." Profound, but very realistic.

  20. Beauty is easily destroyed by ugliness of character. The most physically beautiful person can look like a monster if he or she acts like one.

  21. Certainly, people who easily judged a person has a greater problem in their intellectual being.

  22. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but within it, its not the only basis for us to judge people!... Inside appearance will be my basis as always :)

  23. A person's face can tell his outward feeling, but still more important is the person's character deep inside.

  24. indeed. All one can see in a person is superficial. What's important is what he sees within the person.

  25. Physical beauty fades. It's always what's inside that forever lives.

  26. true characters is way deeper to understand while physical attributes deceive other people most of the time

  27. So true the poem is!

Beauty is just skin deep! What really matters for me is the character a person have.
